Even if you don’t have any questions, make one up. Asking questions shows that you have a vested interest in the position and have taken time to figure out what the company is about. Not only will this create space for more positive engagement, but you will also earn a few brownie points for showing initiative. To prepare for this step, do a quick internet search to learn more about the company, and use your findings to your advantage.
How Much Does This Job Pay?
We all know how important it is to be appropriately compensated, but there is a time to make mention of this point, and it is not during the interview. Holding off on this question shows that you have tact about yourself, so be patient. If you are offered the position, you will be given all of the information you need regarding both pay and benefits. If you can’t wait until this point, do some research to see what you can dig up about how the company compensates its employees.
While all interviewers are different, each of them will be judging you on professionalism and conduct. So, to avoid falling into any traps, refrain from using negative remarks, and never say anything that might be taken out of context as your livelihood depends on it.
